September 29 – October 3, 2025, Alaska

We are prepping the annual Alaska Entrepreneurship Week.
THE Week is an exhilarating enterprise showcase
in one of the world’s most inspiring, beautiful, challenging settings.

Entrepreneur

Self-motivated person striving to fulfill their potential.

What is Alaska Entrepreneurship Week?

Alaska Entrepreneurship Week (AKEW) is a statewide initiative designed to spotlight, support, and strengthen entrepreneurship across Alaska, not just by serving entrepreneurs directly, but also by amplifying the organizations and programs that help them thrive.

It’s a coordinated week of events, workshops, panels, and meetups, hosted by local organizations, educators, business owners, and community champions, structured to inspire action and build momentum around entrepreneurship in all its forms.

MISSION

To coordinate and promote a statewide week of entrepreneur-led and organization-hosted events that elevate, connect, and empower Alaska’s entrepreneurial community.
Through strategic scheduling, shared promotion, and ecosystem-wide visibility, AKEW helps entrepreneurs access the tools they need and supports organizations in amplifying their impact across the state.

VISION

An annual statewide week that highlights the needs, contributions, and future potential of Alaska’s entrepreneurs and the organizations that support them. Many of those needs are met during the week, and all participants leave knowing where to find the resources, connections, or support to move forward.

Purpose

AKEW empowers both entrepreneurs and the organizations that support them. It’s about:

  • Helping entrepreneurs take confident next steps with new skills, connections, or clarity

  • Creating space for organizations to share what they offer (programs, services, events)

  • Growing awareness of Alaska’s entrepreneurial resources across industries and communities

With these in mind,  THE Week  is designed to:

Connect

Bringing together the diverse tapestry of Alaska’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, this event links startups, small businesses, support organizations, legislators, and investors with the resources and networks they need to thrive

Showcase

The week features a series of events, including pitch sessions, workshops, and keynote speeches from industry leaders, to highlight Alaskan businesses’ unique business opportunities and innovative spirit.
Supporting organizations will show how they can assist these entrepreneurs and then connect them with their corresponding program, service, or department.

Inspire

By sharing success stories and providing practical resources, we aim to fuel the ambition of current and aspiring entrepreneurs to pursue their business dreams.

Engage

With interactive sessions and collaborative forums, participants gain practical insights and forge meaningful connections that last beyond the event.

How it works

AKEW does not organize events directly. Instead, it:

  • Facilitates and structures the overall week

  • Promotes submitted events via its website, social media, and email campaigns

  • Supports event hosts with best practices, templates, and visibility

  • Provides a unifying banner that ties together diverse events into a statewide celebration

You run your event, AKEW helps elevate it. You need a resource, are interested in an event…, AKEW helps you find it.

Event’s type & organization

AKEW events are as diverse as Alaska’s communities:

  • Business basics workshops

  • Roundtables and panels

  • Open houses or facility tours

  • Youth innovation activities

  • Pitch events or competitions

  • Resource showcases

  • Networking mixers and more

THE Week may look like this, hopefully with nicer graphics and layout  😊

All events are organized and led by local champions; AKEW simply helps them reach more people and have more impact.

Each day of the week is themed according to the basic five stages of a company, and the majority of the events that day will be related to such subject.

Within each day, longer events will take place in the mornings and afternoons. During lunch hours, we’ll have events shorter than one hour to allow folks working 9-5 to use their lunch time to attend.

To help with commutes, we’ll try to group events in the same locations when possible, as well as encourage organizers to add online capabilities.

An updated calendar can be found here .

Who should attend?

Entrepreneurs, organizations that support entrepreneurs, investors, legislators…

Whether you are an established business owner, a budding entrepreneur, or an investor interested in the vast potential of Alaska’s markets, Entrepreneurship Week offers valuable insights and opportunities for everyone in the business community.
