Emotional Intelligence for Entrepreneurs – Part 1: What Is Emotional Intelligence (E.I.)?

August 18 @ 13:30 - 15:00

Many entrepreneurs are taught to set emotions aside in the name of professionalism. This workshop series on emotional intelligence (E.I.) takes a different approach by showing you how emotions can be valuable information that helps you make better business decisions.

This On-Demand workshop series is presented by Morgan Wallbrown, MA, LPCC, & Founder of Cura Counseling & Consulting, LLC. Morgan will break down the science of emotional intelligence and translate it into practical tools entrepreneurs can use to better understand themselves and others. You’ll learn new skills for communicating effectively and making decisions under pressure. During this workshop series, you’ll also learn to treat your emotional responses as data, not noise. You’ll learn how to sharpen the instincts you already rely on to read a room, navigate conflict, and make high-stakes decisions under pressure.

What you’ll learn during each part of this workshop series:

Part 1: What Is Emotional Intelligence (E.I.)? (This workshop.)
You’ll learn what emotional intelligence is, how the Ability Model works, and why emotions can provide valuable information instead of being something to ignore or control.

Part 2: Why It Matters for Business
You’ll learn how emotional intelligence impacts business outcomes and recognize how emotional reactions can influence your bottom line.

Part 3: How to Use E.I. in Real Life
You’ll practice applying the four abilities of emotional intelligence – perceiving, understanding, using, and managing emotions – to real business situations you may face.

Part 4: Practicing E.I. Skills
You’ll leave with some practical tools, such as the mood meter and structured journaling prompts, that you can begin using in your business right away.
