Anchorage Impact Forum – Civic Engagement

September 17 @ 17:30 - 20:00

Strong entrepreneurial communities require more than businesses. They also require informed residents, effective public institutions, and people prepared to participate, collaborate, and lead.

Presented during Alaska Entrepreneurship Week, the Anchorage Impact Forum: Civic Engagement will showcase four Anchorage initiatives designed to develop civic knowledge, leadership skills, and meaningful community participation.

Featured speakers and programs

Kristin Zuhone
“How to Change the World” summer camp at UAA

Sara Miller
“Civic Leadership Program” at South High School

Kimberly Pace
“Model United Nations” at UAA

Clare Ross
“CivicAnchor” at the Anchorage Assembly

The forum will introduce practical approaches to civic education and leadership development across schools, universities, local government, and the broader Anchorage community. The discussion will examine how these programs prepare participants to understand public systems, engage with community issues, and contribute to Anchorage’s future.
